A New Thanksgiving Tradition

For 60 years I went to Grandma's house for Thanksgiving. It has been a rich tradition but the tradition has come to an end. I wrote about it two years ago: (http://orphanadvocatesblog.blogspot.com/2007/11/thanksgiving-at-grandmas-house.html)
Grandma's house is now empty. No more laughter, no more hugs, no more Grandma. This side of heaven all things must end.
As much as I miss the past we must move on to the future. So for us, my home is now Grandma's house. My wife fixed a tranditional Thanksgiving dinner. As many of the children and grandchildren that could come were here. We also invited two Chinese college students to come and share with us. It is now a generation later but the tradition goes on.
I guess that is what tradition is all about. We experience it. We enjoy it. We contribute to it. We pass it on. A tradition of thankfulness, a tradition of faith in Christ, a tradition of family.
Have a very Happy Thanksgiving!
